Randwick Catholic Young Men's Cricket Club (CYM) will celebrate its 50th anniversary on 8 September 2007. Over 50 seasons the club has achieved remarkable and unparalleled success that is unlikely to be matched by any other junior club. The club, playing as Randwick CYM (with some teams later known as South Sydney), has won 99 premierships and 22 club championships. Randwick CYM won the New South Wales Catholic Cricket Association first grade nine years in succession and secured the club championship for 15 straight years. Over five decades there has been a significant expansion in the number of teams representing the club and the number of associations in which the club has played.

Randwick CYM's 2006/07 season is its last. Why will such a well-organised and highly successful club come to an end at this time of celebration?
